Occupational Exposure Assessment for Diesel Particulate Matter

Opterra was commissioned by Patrick Stevedores Operations Pty Ltd to undertake an Occupational Exposure Assessment for Diesel Particulate Matter at Patrick’s Port Botany Terminal. Patrick’s Port Botany Terminal operations require some of their employees and contractors to work near to, and/or to operate a range of diesel-powered plant and equipment.

An Occupational Exposure Assessment was conducted to proactively assess worker exposure to Diesel Particulate Matter. All workers monitored during the Occupational Exposure Assessment were found to be exposed to concentrations at least 18 times less than the Workplace Exposure Standard for Diesel Particulate Matter. It was determined that the current measures for controlling the risk of Diesel Particulate Matter exposure are considered effective.
